And it has the following specific objectives:
a) provide interdisciplinary training, deepening approaches, approaches and dimensions, especially in the area of ??Human and Social Sciences, on topics included in the program's area of ??concentration and research lines;
b) Promote professional training committed to scientific, technical and political practices that are distinguished and, at the same time, articulate the specific competences developed or conferred by the different disciplinary fields;
c) To train researchers with a broad domain of the theories and methodologies that configure the current interdisciplinarity of heritage studies for the generation of relevant and innovative knowledge that responds to the new challenges and demands of society.
d) To produce knowledge about the multiple temporalities, spatial scales, cultural differences and social inequalities that move the notions, categorizations and appropriations of cultural heritage;
e) Develop critical thinking aimed at strengthening science and its social functions for the construction and implementation of democratic policies, in particular, of culture.
f) Foster and disseminate academic production, through publications of research results, technical productions, congresses, events and social insertions.
Target audience: Due to its interdisciplinary nature, the Doctoral course in Cultural Heritage and Society is aimed at masters in different backgrounds who act as teachers, researchers, cultural and environmental managers, professionals in museums, archives, tourism, cultural and memory centers, jurists, historians, architects, artists, geographers, administrators, among others, interested in deepening their academic training.
Curriculum
With a duration of 48 months, the Curricular Matrix allows the master's student to complete 48 credits distributed in compulsory subjects (10 credits), compulsory activities (16 credits), elective subjects (10 credits) and dissertation production - mandatory (12 credits)
