On Monday night (09/16), São Bento do Sul campus academic community of Univille participated in an international lecture with the Consul General of Poland, Marta Olkowska. Professors, administrative teams, and undergraduate students learned about the history, current events, and opportunities offered by the country in the areas of education, technology, industry, tourism, among other ones.

In the meeting, Marta spoke to the audience and presented Poland, in terms of cultural and economic data and characteristics, as well as the country's history in other segments, in addition to the relations established with surrounding countries.

“This is my first time in São Bento do Sul. So, I think it’s great to meet the young students from the University on my first visit and tell them a little about Poland. Many of them have a little Polish blood in their veins. Then, being able to bring Poland closer to its history, but also to its day-to-day life, to the contemporary history of this country, I think it’s a great opportunity for us to get closer to each other,” she emphasized.

The University's international advisor, Juliana Bustamante, reaffirmed the importance of moments like this so that Univille academics can learn about the various international possibilities offered, in addition to cultural exchange in events such as the lecture this Monday.

“This is a great opportunity to have a renowned diplomat, such as Dr. Marta Olkowska, here at the institution. So, getting to know who is from there, this cultural and historical exchange, and delving a little deeper into these roots because we still do not have relations with Poland is a great opportunity,” she highlighted.
